Despite extensive characterization of sex differences in the medial preoptic area (mPOA) of the hypothalamus, we know surprisingly little about whether or how male and female mPOA neurons differ electrophysiologically, especially in terms of neuronal firing and behavioral pattern generation. In this study, by performing whole-cell patch clamp recordings of the mPOA, we investigated the influences of sex, cell type, and gonadal hormones on the electrophysiological properties of mPOA neurons. Notably, we uncovered significant sex differences in input resistance (male > female) and in the percentage of neurons that displayed post-inhibitory rebound (male > female). ABSTRACT
Atherosclerosis （AS） is a chronic inflammatory disease which has great threat to human health in our society. The coronary heart disease， stroke and other cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases caused by it have a high mortality and disability rate. AS is characterized by endothelial dysfunction， lipoproteins accumulation and inflammatory cell infiltration， with a complex pathological mechanism during its evolution. Inflammatory response runs through the whole process of occurrence and development of AS， and is a common link of many pathological factors. Intervention of inflammatory response is an effective way and important strategy to control AS. By virtue of its unique advantages， traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） plays an important role in the clinical treatment. According to the TCM theory， the formation and development of AS are closely related to five factors， namely wind， fire， phlegm， blood stasis and deficiency. Among them， blood stasis and turbid phlegm are the most closely related. Blood stasis and turbid phlegm are both pathological products and pathogenic factors. Their formation is mainly due to the imbalance of Yin and Yang in the whole body， dysfunction of viscera and organs and obstruction of transfusion of Qi， blood and body fluid. The pathogenic factors are not only independent， but also related. In recent years， there are more and more studies on the intervention effect and mechanism of TCM on AS， but the intervention effect of TCM on the inflammatory response signaling pathways has not been reported. In this paper， it mainly introduces the understanding of the effect of TCM against AS and seven signaling pathways relating to the intervention effect of TCM on the inflammatory response， which are Janus kinase/signal transduction and activator of transcription （JAK/STAT） signaling pathway， nuclear factor-κB （NF-κB） signaling pathway， mitogen-activated protein kinase （MAPK） dependent signaling pathway， reactive oxygen species （ROS） dependent signaling pathway， CD40-CD40L signaling pathway and Toll-like receptor （TLR） dependent signaling pathway.
ABSTRACT
Objective To execute experimental study injection rate and volumetric error and to explore their correlations with sizes of injectors and extension tube,so as to lay a foundation for the quality control of the injection pump.Methods Simulation experiment was carried out with involving in 10,20 and 50 ml of injectors and 80 and 120 cm extension tubes,and 6 kinds of connection systems were formed with auxiliary appliances.The injection rate and flow reading of the flow meter were obtained and then compared with the set values,and the correlations were proved between sizes of auxiliary appliances and the precision of injection dose and rate.Results In case other conditions kept the same,the injector with larger capacity behaved better in controlling injection rate and dose,and the shorter extension tube gained advantages over the longer one in regulating the precision for injection and injection dose.Conclusion The experiment contributes to the selection of auxiliary appliances and the enhancement of quality control,and the further research provides references for process design and materials selection of the injector.

The current situation of medical equipment management informatization was introduced in China,and its deficiencies were described in standard,top-level design,data island and etc.A development strategy divided into preliminary,intermediate and advanced levels was put forward,which used business support,data fusion and iterative analysis as the tools.The steps and methods for medical equipment management informatization were studied,and it's pointed out industrial informatization was of great significance to enhance the quality,efficacy and ability of medical equipment management.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the performance patterns of reaction point Jingtong in balance acupuncture through multi-center and big-sample clinical investigation. Methods The Jingtong points of balance acupuncture on healthy side and affected side were observed among 230 cases of cervical spondylosis and scores of self-discomfort in reaction point, color of skin, changes of skin, morphology of subcutaneous tissue and abnormal pressing pain were recorded. The software SPSS 15.0 was applied to statistically analyze the recorded scores.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Among 230 cases, the reaction point appeared in 226 cases, accounting for 98. 3%. Among the 226 cases who had reaction point, the total score of symptom and sign was (1.08+/-1.09) on the healthy side and (0. 84+/-1. 36) on the affected side, which had statistical significance (P<0. 01); score of self-discomfort in reaction point was (0. 76 +/-0. 83) on the healthy side and (0. 40+/-0.80) on the affected side, which had statistical significance (P<0.01); the score of skin color was (0.10+/-0.36) on the healthy side and (0. 03+/- 0. 19) on the affected side, which had statistical significance (P<0. 05); the score of abnormal pressing pain was (2. 47+/-2. 46) on the healthy side and (1. 39+/-2. 37) on the affected side, which had statistical significance (P<0. 01).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The total score of symptom and sign of reaction point Jingtong on the healthy side is higher than that on the affected side, indicating positive reaction of Jingtong on the healthy side has specificity for cervical spondylosis. When patient has cervical spondylosis on either side of neck, the other side will have anomaly in Jingtong.</p>
